Timbmet is one of Europe’s largest timber importers and distributors and one of the world’s great innovators in timber. Timbmet leads the industry in its diverse product range, cutting-edge innovation and strong environmental credentials.

 


Objective

To raise Timbmet’s profile as an innovator and driving force, offering expertise and solutions in addition to core products.

To increase awareness of Timbmet’s products and services across a range of sectors including manufacturers and contractors, merchants, architects, interior designers and shop fitters. 


Result

Since November 2006, a regular stream of positive exposure in the timber and wider construction industry press in the form of case studies, comment pieces, features, news stories, new product announcements and interviews with key Timbmet representatives.

Worked closely with Cognition’s marketing department to maximise exposure during particular product focuses.

A portfolio of case studies showcasing a variety of Timbmet products and product applications, with exposure subsequently achieved in relevant trade publications.

Successful issues management regarding Burmese teak resulting in high profile interviews and positive coverage in national and regional press e.g. Financial Times, The Guardian, Sunday Herald and national broadcast media e.g. BBC Newsnight, Today programme on BBC Radio 4.

Wrote and designed a quarterly four colour internal newsletter to highlight achievements, progress and facts about different areas of the business, promoting employee awareness and generating dialogue.

Generated substantial interest among architects, specifiers and interior designers in Timbmet’s more design-led products, such as decorative panels, by securing regular exposure in target publications.

Successfully managed regional media interest resulting from the relocation of Timbmet’s main distribution centre.

Increased online exposure with regular blog written by Timbmet CEO, Simon Fineman covering industry issues.
